RAK is an experimental social project. This Policy describes our current practices, which may evolve as the experiment develops.

Account data: email address and, if provided, a display name and profile details, handled through our authentication provider.

Payment data: when you subscribe, payments are processed by Stripe. We receive limited billing metadata (e.g., plan, status, last four digits, country) but we do NOT store your full card number — Stripe does, as an independent controller/processor under its own terms.

Usage & device data: pages viewed, interactions, approximate location derived from IP, browser/device information, and diagnostic logs.

Content: material you create, submit, or generate using the Service.

Cookies, local storage, and a service worker used to operate the Service, remember preferences, and measure usage.

We use personal data to: operate, maintain, and improve the Service; create and manage your account; process subscriptions and payments; provide notifications and support; ensure security and prevent abuse; analyze and develop the experiment; and comply with legal obligations.

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service and processing your subscription); our legitimate interests (securing, improving, and analyzing the Service); your consent (where required, e.g., certain analytics); and compliance with legal obligations.

We share personal data with service providers acting on our behalf, including: Stripe (payment processing); our database and authentication provider (Supabase); Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver push notifications to your device); AI model providers (such as OpenRouter, OpenAI, and Anthropic, which process prompts and content you submit in order to generate outputs); and hosting/content-delivery providers. These providers process data under agreements limiting their use to providing services to us.

We may also disclose data to comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

WE DO NOT SELL YOUR PERSONAL DATA for money. To the extent certain analytics could be considered “sharing” under California law, you may opt out as described in Section 8.

RAK GURU LLC is based in the United States, and our infrastructure and service providers operate in the UNITED STATES AND OTHER COUNTRIES OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA. By using the Service, your personal data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in these countries, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

Where such transfers are subject to EU/UK data-protection law, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), to protect your data.

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion as described below.

California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, to opt out of “sale”/“sharing,” and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

EEA/UK (GDPR): you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and to withdraw consent, as well as to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a person under 16 has provided us data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and — consistent with the experimental nature of the Service — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
